Sophisticated outdoor oasis reopens with additional seating and a new, seasonally-inspired menu
CHICAGO (May 10, 2010) – Trump International Hotel & Tower® Chicago is pleased to announce that The Terrace at Trump, the downtown property's sophisticated outdoor dining venue located on the 16th Floor, will reopen Thursday, May 20 at
3:00 p.m. The chic, outdoor oasis – which became a highly sought destination upon its debut last year – showcases a dramatic vista of the Chicago skyline as well a picturesque view of Lake Michigan along with the Chicago River and its famous bridges. This season, The Terrace at Trump will introduce an additional 40 seats, alongside a new summer menu and a distinctive cocktail program with Champagne at the heart.
Upon arrival, guests are escorted to The Terrace at Trump via the Bridges Room, one of the downtown Chicago hotel’s intimate dining spaces. The moment they set foot outdoors, they are met with a lush, serene atmosphere punctuated by vivid, green landscaping and a contemporary color scheme of rich espressos and creams; the ambiance is further enhanced with music, water elements and soft candle lighting. Comfortable lounge and table seating, designed by Alex Morales of Smartmouth Designs, can accommodate up to 140 guests. The Terrace at Trump staff is outfitted in stylish uniforms ideal for the chic outdoor environment. Designed by Chicago designer Nicholas Hansen, male staff members wear blue and white gingham short-sleeve dress shirts with gray trousers, and the women don lilac, summery cotton shirt dresses.
With the Chicago River in their direct sightline, guests will also appreciate a first-hand view of Chicago's summer fireworks displays, taking place every Wednesday and Saturday evening from Navy Pier from the Fourth of July through Labor Day.
Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago’s expert culinary team has developed a special menu that is available outdoors on The Terrace at Trump, as well as indoors in the Bridges Room. This year’s offerings are divided into four categories:

Prime rib of beef with arugula mayo and crispy shallots
Turkey with cranberry relish, sprouts and fresh pineapple
Ashed goat blue cheese burger with heirloom tomato
Lamb loin with lemon aioli and fried eggplant
Ceviche
Maine lobster with mango relish and breakfast radish
Big eye tuna with toasted sesame, scallions and ginger
Diver scallop with beet reduction and wasabi mayo
Shrimp with spicy cocktail
Chopped Salads
Tempura calamari with candied pecans, spicy peanut dressing and red cabbage slaw
Lamb loin with fresh harissa, socca crisps and caraway vinaigrette
Grilled eggplant, dried cherry dressing, toasted almonds and cilantro
Hawaiian fried chicken with macadamia nuts, honey mustard and pineapple
Skewers
Beef satay with friend carrots and sweet chili
Bison kebob with salsa verde and crispy red onion
Corn dog with spicy relish and fried pickle
Spice rubbed salmon with Greek cucumber salad
Seasonal desserts created by Pastry Chef Sarah Kosikowski will provide a sweet finish to the experience.
This year’s cocktail theme, called “Bubbles on The Terrace,” showcases an array of cocktails created with Champagne and sparkling wine – ideal for enjoyment during Chicago’s hot summer months. These refreshing, sparkling cocktails (all $14) include:

White peach purée, Domaine de Canton, prosecco
Cœur de Rose
Grey Goose, muddled strawberries, sparkling rosé

St. Germain, Crème de Violette, prosecco and orange sugar rim

Hum liqueur, mint, fresh sour and sparkling rosé
